it's time for you to go, alarm says on my phone
but i'm not sleeping. (i'm sorry, yes, i'm sorry)
"grand scheme of things" conversations might be too much to handle.
too much eye contact--i'm feeling the effects
i'm lost and impatient.
i can't understand what compels me to talk about everything
that pops in my mind.
i am want versus should versus will.
what i want, i shouldn't, but i will.
can't get much worse than this.
it's sunny outside, but stormy in my mind.

i get lost
in your nails attached to fingers
and your fingers attached to hands
that contain the bones i almost left in Washington
my loneliness has began to comfort me like you never could.
i gave into my past and let it all come back
how i felt, and who i was
how i was never enough.

cold death, slow death--your sick dad's pact.
you can't just forget a week like that.
board games and long days,
i know it's hard to stay sane, with the time that we spend inside.
and it feels fine, but it seems bad.
today, i'm falling backwards, but it's fine, 'cause i got Tuesday off.
it feels like a new chapter, or something sour from somebody else.
(if you need to call for help, don't brush right past me. you think it's over.)

i am easier to see with remnants of remnants of remnants of a smile on my teeth.
i wear it on my sleeve--it catches up to me
ten out of ten-thousand scars actually bleed.
don't blame me, everything.
son of a scapegoat. i'll take all the blame for this.
you saw the worst of my intentions
you're taking advantage of the best.
if you were waiting for something like this,
know it's not big enough for Giants.
and if you're sensing bitterness--that's just the taste you'll never get off of your tongue.
(no)
ask yourself--am i used, or am i useful?
am i being used, or am i useful?
ask me what i think of friendship.
i'll meet you in the middle.
